sadguru se mulakat

इस हफ्ते में सूरज की तपिश ने लोगों को अपनी  गर्मी से परेशां कर रखा है ... जब सूरज मजबूत होता है तोह धरती और हमारे आस  की चीज़ों में एक  निजता से आ जाती है ... आपका अपना शरीर पसीने से लदबद हो जाता है  आपको एक irritation सी होने लगती है , जब आप मैनहट्टन के किसी गन्दी सड़क से गुजरते हैं  तो underground  नालें की बदबू आपकी नासिकायों का स्वागत करती है ... आज शाम मैं घुमने गया था .. सूरज की तपिश ने धरती को एक सौंधी सी खुसबू दी है    सड़क के किनारें चलते चलते बगल के बगीचे से ऐसी ही सौंधी सुगंध ने  मुझे  अपने बस में कर लिया .. मन करता था उसे खूब जोर जोर से अपने बदन  में  महसूस करू ....  शरीर तोः धरती की सुगंध को महसूस करने में डूबा था .. मन कहीं और चला गया था .. शायद अपने गाँव की तरफ जहाँ इतनी तपन तोः आम बात है .. और धरती की खुसबू , पसीने की बदबू .. नालियों की महक ... रोजाने के जीवन का हिस्सा है .... खैर में कहना तोः कुछ और चाहता था इस ब्लॉग में ... चलिए लिख ही देते हैं वोह दास्ताँ जोह मेरे जीवन का महत्वपूर्ण दिन था .....
४ जुलाई की बात है .. मैं अपने एक दोस्त के barbecue में आमंत्रित था ... सब कुछ ७ बजते बजते ख़तम सा हो गया था ... मेरे पास कैमरा था सोचा की शाम की सुनहली शमा को अपने कैमरा में कैद कर लूं ... campus पास ही था .. मोर्निंग साइड पार्क से चलते चलते अली से मुलाकात हो गयी.. करीब घंटें भर बातें करके .. अन्दर campus के तरफ आ गया ...कुछ तावीरें कैद की अपने कैमरे में .. फिर  ११० स्ट्रीट से नंबर १ ट्रेन  लेने के बदले   चलता रहा.. चलता रहा .. वोही पुराने neighborhood जहाँ में कभी रहता था .. १०३ स्ट्रीट के अस पास के pinkberry से एक मांगो आइसक्रीम ख़रीदा .. चलते चलते .. एक पोस्टर पर नज़र पड़ी .. लिखा था माँ amritanandmai  न्यू योर्क में दर्शन देने वाली है .. chattered mind  को एक और ठिकाना.. सोचा की मौके मिला तोः इन्हें भी देख लेते हैं .. समय नोट कर लिया .. जुलाई ६  साथ बजे ...

काम ख़तम करके मनीष पहुँच गया  ३११ manhattan प्लेस .. कहीं हज़ार लोग थे .. मुझे भी एक पिंक स्लिप मिला .. कुछ देर बैठने से पता चला की वोह दर्शन स्लिप है   जब अन्दर आया था तोः एक अलग दुनिया दिखी ...  संगीत .. दुकाने .. अम्मा के नाम एक बहुत  बड़ा बिज़नस empire  दिखा . साधारण से लोग दिखे जिन्हें मुक्ति की तलाश थी .. ऐसे भी दिखे जोह सिर्फ पार्टी करने आये थे ..

खैर वोह पिंक स्लिप एक खास था क्योंकि वोह .. अम्मा से  व्यकिगत रूप से मिलने का मौका .... कुछ अनुभवी लोगों से पुछा,, तो पता चला की प-३ ( ये मेरे स्लिप का नंबर था ) का नंबर २ बजे के अaस पास आयेगा  . Embracing  the world ( यह अम्मा के humanitrian  ओर्ग का नाम है ) कुछ volunteer  दूंढ रहे थे ..मुझे भीगे हुए  बर्तन सुखाने का काम  मिला .. जाकोब जवित्ज़ सेण्टर में उनकी रसोई थी .. मुझे वहां वान से ले जाया गया ..   १ बजते बजते में फिर से वापस आ गया था .. वोही अलग दुनिया में .. जहाँ अम्मा सबसे समन्यवय भाव से मिल रही थी ..

मेरा वक़्त ४.३० मिनट पर आया ... अम्मा ने मुझे  गोद में  भर लिया ..कानो में कुछ कहा ... मुझे ऐसा लगा की मेरे बरसों की तलाश पूरी हो गयी है .. यह तलाश तो  एक मृग तृष्णा .. की तरह है .. सेक्रेट तो  मेरे ही पास है .. गुरु तो उसकी  याद दिला देते है .. अम्मा ने फिर से वोह लौ जलाई है  .... गुरु तोह बहुत मुश्किल  से मिलते है.. अम्मा मिली है .. काम तोह मुझे ही करना है  ..जीवित शरीर गुरु तोह भाग्य से ही मिलता है ....आजतक विडियो.. TAPE , आवाज़ और शिष्यों  के माध्यम से

This is my remarks for Yves Morieux atrticle on what is compensation compensating for ..


Before I start my remarks, I would like to give you little background of myself. I have worked in Greenpeace India for three years . Work was fun at Greenpeace and those three years were my some of the best in 31 years of my life. Salary was not great but we were great team and didn't expect our compensation to rise so fast because we worked to protect our planet and lived less consumerist life. Anyways I moved on in my life , finished my MPA at Sciences Po and SIPA. Currently,I work here in New York at small private company which believes in making money while helping people in getting jobs. In short my current company is a for profit private company which works with New York City Government to reduce urban poverty through employment and other public policy issues.


All these debates/protests about compensation are symptoms of something more deeper and chronic problems of our time. Organizations find it easier to buy engagement of their leaders/staff through monetary compensation because understanding and tackling of the real issues of man's alienation to his/her work, takes totally different approach . Its easy to monetize and put everything in numbers but its so difficult to create organic and engaging system where people can feel connected and their work would be liberating factor of their existence.

People are motivated by different factors when they choose their job. Their decision to join particular job is outcome of their emotional,social,and financial needs. For example when I decided to join Greenpeace India, I was motivated by organization's capability to save environment and compensation didn't play significant role in my decision. People were engaged and motivated to work for something which they believe in ( again this motivation and engagement are dynamic processes and it keep changing, transforming ,evolving in due course of time). I enjoyed my work there because I felt connected to some bigger purpose, a thread (passion for environment,feeling of doing something good) which held everyone together in Greenpeace . We demonstrated this connection through our daily lives . For example we would use public transport/bicycles to come to our work, use less plastics and refrain from using air conditioners. All these personal choices combined with professional zeal to save environment brought lots of satisfaction in life at that time.

I identify at least three real issues at work place.

1.There is a myth among management that monetary rewards can solve the problems of disengaging employees. Companies consider monetary rewards as most powerful tool to buy employees engagement but human mind is very complicated and an employee can never be engaged just by seeing his pay raise. For example I get pay raise every year at my current company but happiness is very transitory because getting pay doesn't resolve my problems.

Cooperation- I wont call this as tool for enhancing productivity, I would rather phrase as a medium of connectivity(this connectivity is not about technology but its about their passion, and spirit which binds people together) Individuals can feel connected when they cooperate, because employees at work feel alienated and by cooperation they can relate themselves to something collective. For example in Greenpeace we had this feeling among all the 38 offices of the world that we are warriors and fighting for our mother earth. Off course that feeling has evaporated now in me but organizations can still create engaging work environment where people can feel connected .

Designing small and organic systems- Currently technology has transformed management into machine which does the same job as machine does ,i:e tracking performance and conducting meeting with charts and data. Technology has immense potential to transform modern management into a more living and organic unit. Modern organization should learn a lot from nature,for example there is lot of research going on how to design intelligent urban distribution system based on living organisms like leaf and trunk of trees ,which is considered as resilient distribution network (Refer to network theory )

Why to Join IIMC and Mass Com

The question that why one should join the world of the mass communication in today’s fast changing world is significant in multiple ways. This is so because in one hand the technological interventions into our day today activities have affected us in many ways. The Technological interventions have altered the focal views in terms of the perception to world outlook, secondly the fast changing nature of the technology has led a caprice into the nature of the jobs and the nature of the doing the job as never been and thus “there is nothing permanent” seems to be true in its present context.




So the question is when the world is changing so fast, how to chase the pace of this change, where to stand in the daily created unemployment, retrenchment, lock off and so on. The answer lies in the question “why Mass Communication?’



Whatever be the pace of the change, one can’t remain aloof of the society and its various dimensions though with the change. That implies more the changes, more the inquisitiveness to know the world and the society out side you and so more the demands of the communications. Thus the point is very clear , whatever way the change is going to come , the means of the communication is going to stand alone, and so your association with the mass communication can alone led you to stand in the period of the rapid social change.



There was a period that only the “Prasar Bharati”, “Doordarshan” and BBC was the only sources for air news, or the news papers with limited access was available, but today the finger nail with chips has the capacity to numerous information, what has remained constant is that the communication for your life to quench the thirst of intellectual side. Today we have the specialized channels for every target group, from old age home people to infant with Lactose in hand. Did you notice the changes that have erupted out of the jinn box? We have the MTV, Life style, Religious channels, 24X7 news on air, ZEE, Star and so on that list is becoming voluminous.
