Betrayal of a Dream and Why South Africa has lost the moral ground

Dalai Lama was denied visa to South Africa. South Africa wants to focus on World Cup football because participation of Dalai Lama into the Nobel Lauret's peace conference would distract the attention from Football to Tibet. What a great day for country who consider Nelson Mandela as their National Hero and Gandhi as their inspiration..

Shame on current political leadership of that country. Why I should bother, because as a child my memories were shaped by visit of Indian Cricket team to soil of South Africa and also how Nelson Mandela chose to visit India as First President of apartheid free South Africa . African National Congress has exploited the support from all freedom loving people and countries for many decades for its struggle against apartheid. Now the same ANC is siding in favor of China . Unfortunately most powerful country of the world. I think china will remain without democracy and voices of dissent wll keep getting murdered by the red army but unfortunately country like South Africa will have to pay the price of choosing wrong choices.

Argument is petty simple , diverse countries like India, South Africa can't afford to be suppressive in the long run. Could India chose to be authoritarian state , I dont think so, actually India didnt have option than choosing itself plural country. On the similar fashion I want to say couple of things here... First South Africa has betrayed the ideals of its national fathers. Its strange Father Tutu and Nelson Mandela both are alive and watching their government acting in favor of communist and anti democarcy regime of china. History has taught us that choices we make in present will decide the future. Examples are many . what could be best examples than all the failed state of SOUTH ASIA.For example Pakistan and Bengladesh decided to become Islamist state and that was the betrayel of of their historical existence. They betrayed the pluralism of Indian subcontinent and now result is quite obvious.
Similarly speaking ... today by refusing the visa of his holiness, South Africa has betrayed the ideals of non violence , democracy and human rights. I am afraid what the future will bring to this country. One needs to understand the historicity of Chinese regime and complexity of evolving societies of South Africa and many other diverse nations in the world .
